There is a saying that goes something like this, "Many things will touch your senses but just a few will touch your heart, pursue those...........passionately".
This describes Dr. Mary Selly-Navarro and her commitment to the profession of chiropractic medicine. Her guiding moral compass combined with a genuine compassion for her patients, makes her an outstanding doctor, and an even better person. Mary feels very strongly about maintaining a high degree of integrity and ethical behavior within the profession, all the while while displaying a caring manner with her patients. It is a balancing act she has perfected. She takes every opportunity to promote her profession by being involved in her local community and giving back more than she gets. She always looks for the chance to educate others about the profession, and does this in a respectful well-spoken manner. Mary also believes very strongly in mentoring young doctors, as she has provided clinical experience for chiropractic students over the years, trying to instill not only proper technique, but as importantly, professional values and a responsibility of professional obligation.
To be recognized by your peers, and the MCA is an honor of the highest degree, one Dr. Selly-Navarro is well deserving of. She likely will be humbled by this recognition, however it will also reinforce in her mind the need to continue her efforts to be the best doctor of chiropractic she can be and provide the quality of care her patients have come to expect from her. I doubt that will change and that is a very good thing for the profession.
Her entire family is extremely proud of Mary and being a father myself, I know her late father, Dr Patrick Selly, D.C. is as well. As my father would say, "Pat's buttons must be burstin".
