ICD-10: Training and Implementation for Providers

CMS has slated October 1, 2015 as the deadline for ICD-10 implementation. Providers and payers are required to be compliant with the new coding structure and documentation guidelines by the implementation date. CMS is estimating that over 60% of providers, nationwide, do not document patient care with enough specificity to comply with this new system. This places every provider at risk for claims processing delays and denials.

This session will provide a basic overview of coding changes and how to understand the new coding structures. Providers will review documentation best practices to ensure medical records meet the new ICD-10 guidelines. Suggestions for ICD-10 conversion and implementation will give providers a starting plan of action.

ICD-10 Readiness and Implementation for Office Staff

As of October 1, 2105 all medical providers and insurance payers must comply with ICD-10 coding changes. Providers' offices must be ready to send claims that are ICD-10 compliant by the deadline, or risk losing important revenue. This session is designed to give office managers and support staff an overview of ICD-10 coding changes. It will highlight changes that are required for compliant documentation and provide ideas for implementation and pitfalls to avoid.

This lecture will use case studies with clinical and imaging correlations to emphasize the critical role that radiography and advanced imaging play in the daily practice of chiropractic.  Imaging studies of both common and less frequently encountered abnormalities will be presented, with interactive discussions and a pace that will allow attendees to think through the cases and formulate their own differential diagnoses and final diagnoses.  There will be an emphasis on evidence-based utilization of imaging in an effort to provide maximum benefit to the patient, as economically as possible.
