Kerri Casey

Kerri graduated from Boston College with an BA in Psychology. She graduated in 2006 from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN with a Masters in Oriental Medicine. In 2007, Kerri opened MN Community Acupuncture in order to make acupuncture treatments more affordable so everyone could receive the benefits that acupuncture provides. The clinics have given more than 70,000 treatments since opening our doors which has given us invaluable experience treating a multitude of conditions. Kerri has given numerous talks and presentations on acupuncture and is still excited about how effectively acupuncture can help with almost all disorders in the body.

Jim Cooper

Jim is the lead instructor for Respond Training and is Certified as an instructor with NRA, USCCA, MN DNR, and an Instructor Trainer for ECSI.
He has been an EMT for the past 10 years and supervised the first aid teams at the Excel Energy Center and the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Jim has worked with The MCA offering First Aid and CPR training for several years and looks forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come.

Respond Training offers classes in First Aid, CPR/AED, Emergency Preparedness, Firearm and Hunter Safety.

Mark Dehen

Dr. Mark D. Dehen is a second generation Doctor of Chiropractic, practicing in North Mankato, MN. He has been in private practice for 28+ years. Dr. Dehen has certificates in whiplash, industrial consultation and the Back Pain Recognition program by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). He also assists local industries with ergonomic consulting and injury prevention.

Mark is involved in his community, having served in leadership roles for a number of organizations, including currently serving as Mayor of the City of North Mankato. Dr. Dehen is a past president of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) and recipient of the MCA’s Award of Excellence, the 1999 Chiropractor of the Year Award and the 2013 John Allenburg Meritorious Award. Mark was named Northwestern Health Science University’s Distinguished Alumnus in 2013. He was also voted Best Chiropractor by Mankato Magazine in 2012 and 2013. Dr. Dehen is a past chair of the national Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP). He has authored several articles in the scientific literature. Mark is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors.

Dr. Dehen is married to his wife of 19 years, Kim, and they have 2 children, Jackson and Grace.

Stephen Fridinger

Stephen has been a chiropractic radiologist at CRL Imaging for 11 years. He graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 1998, and completed his radiology residency in 2001. He enjoys tennis, snowboarding, and mountain biking with his wife of 22 years and 3 boys.

Lindsay Mancini

Lindsay Mancini is a partner and personal injury attorney with Woods & Thompson, P.A., where she handles liability, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, no-fault disputes, insurance coverage disputes, arbitrations, trials, and appeals. Ms. Mancini is licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice, and serves a No-fault insurance arbitrator. Ms. Mancini also teaches Insurance Law as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law.

Timothy Mick, DC, DACBR, FICC

Dr. Timothy Mick is a chiropractic radiologist providing MRI and x-ray study interpretations for Doctors of Chiropractic.

Dr. Mick is a nationally recognized chiropractic radiologist, educator and author. As associate professor, he headed the department of radiology at Northwestern College of Chiropractic (NWCC) in Minnesota for over 17 years and led the development of their Radiological Consultation Services. Dr. Mick was also instrumental in initiating and directing NWCC’s radiology residency program, and providing expertise in diagnostic imaging for Northwestern Health Sciences University’s internationally recognized research department. He lectures to chiropractors, interns, medical doctors and allied health professionals on a variety of topics across the U.S. and in Europe and has also served as an expert witness on issues regarding diagnostic imaging. Following graduation from NWCC in 1986, Dr. Mick
completed a three-year radiology residency at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and was board-certified in chiropractic radiology in 1989. His training included rounds and conferences at the University of Minnesota, University of Southern California, University of California-San Diego and UCLA-Harbor Medical School.

Dr. Mick is a Diplomat of the Chiropractic Board of Radiology and is a past President of the Board, the examining body for chiropractic radiologists. He is also past President of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology and the American Chiropractic Association Council on Diagnostic Imaging and is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors. He was among the first chiropractic radiologists to work with medical radiology groups and since the late 1980’s, he has read studies for more than two dozen imaging centers and eight different medical imaging groups Dr. Mick has served on the editorial boards for two professional journals and has authored or co-authored 23 textbook chapters and journal articles. He has also written questions for and/or served as a consultant for a number of professional licensing and certifying bodies, including the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists and the American Board of Chiropractic Radiology. Dr. Mick is currently a member of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology, the American Chiropractic Association and Minnesota Chiropractic Association. Dr. Mick has received a number of awards in recognition of his commitment to clinical and educational excellence in diagnostic imaging. These include being honored as the Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA) Educator of the Year in 2004, along with nominations for the same award the previous two years. He received the MCA President’s Award for exceptional service to the profession in 2002 and also was selected by his colleagues at Northwestern for the Faculty Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice in 2005.

Leann R. Ottomeyer, RN, CTN, CPC

Leann R. Ottomeyer, RN, CTN, CPC is the Clinical Administrator, Certified Professional Coder, and Certified Traditional Naturopath at Ottomeyer Clinics, PLLC in Forest Lake, MN. She has a BA in Nursing, has done post-graduate studies in functional wellness and nutrition. Currently pending are: Certified Professional Biller, and Certified Physician Practice Manager—American Academy of Professional Coders. Leann has taught sessions on Lyme disease, DJR consulting on natural weight loss, the MCA Administrative Uniformity Committee E3 Initiative, and is currently involved in ICD-10 training. She is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders, American Naturopathic Medical Association, and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Some of her honors and awards include the President’s Award for Service Above and Beyond from the Minnesota Chiropractic Association; the Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary International; and the Sigma Theta Tau award for academic excellence. In 2012 she published a “Healthy reGeneration Diet Guide.”

David Patterson, DC

David Patterson, DC is a 1984 graduate of Northwestern. Dr. Patterson is co-owner of 50th & France Chiropractic & Wellness in Edina, MN. Dr. Dave has performed 100s of thousands of adjustments in his 30+ years in practice as well as being on staff at NWHSU for the past 10 years. Dr. Patterson has personally mentored over 200 chiropractic interns. He enjoys teaching and finding ways for others to learn while being entertained.

Anne Spicer, DC, DACCP

Bachelors degree from the College of St Benedict & St John's University. Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University.  Associate Professor, Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN since 1992.  Clinical mentor to students in a primarily Maternal/Pediatric practice on campus at the Bloomington Natural Care Center.  Classroom instructor to chiropractic and acupuncture students in the area of children's health.  Published author.  Diplomate of the Academy of Chiropractic Pediatrics.

Timothy Stark, MPhil, DC, DACBSP, ICCSP, CSCS

Originally from North Dakota, Dr. Timothy Stark completed a bachelors degree in 1990 at North Dakota State University in Exercise Physiology and then went on to Northwestern College of Chiropractic where he completed his DC degree and subsequently pioneered an American residency in the specialty of Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation. He practiced in West Fargo, North Dakota for almost ten years before moving his family to Australia to assist with the development of a new chiropractic program at Murdoch University. This new School of Chiropractic and Sports Science allowed opportunities to instruct Physical Rehabilitation, Clinical Orthopedics, Clinical Neurology, Physiotherapeutics and Applied Clinical Nutrition courses. He was also the Chair of the post-graduate and graduate programs including the Masters of Sports Science. While in Australia, he contributed to the development of a ‘sister’ program in Japan.

His publications are on the topics of physical rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. His current research efforts are directed towards Human Performance and Rehabilitation and establishing a standard progressive process for implementing and teaching physical rehabilitation.

In the last four years, he has transitioned from being a fulltime lecturer & Chair of the Clinical Sciences Department at National University of Health Sciences, to the Dean of the College of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University and now more recently, the Director of the Human Performance Center at NWHSU. He also coordinates the post-graduate educational programs for Northwestern Health Sciences University for the specialties of Sports Chiropractic and Physical Rehabilitation. He is the Past Chair of the Education Commission for the Federation of International Sports Chiropractic (FICS).

Dr. Stark is a clinical instructor for Graston Technique, FAKTR, Theraband and Rocktape.

Joseph J. Sweere, DC, DABCO, DACBOH, FICC

Dr. Sweere is a Professor in the Clinical Sciences Division, College of Chiropractic, Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) in Bloomington, MN. He is the founder of, and an advisor to the H.C. Sweere Center for Clinical Biomechanics and Applied Ergonomics located on the campus of Northwestern Health Sciences University.

He is a 1961 graduate of Northwestern and served as President of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association in 1976 and was the recipient of the MCA Chiropractor of the Year Award in 1979. He was the first recipient of the Northwestern Distinguished Alumnus Award. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association; a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists (DABCO); and a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Occupational Health (DACBOH). He is a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (FICC). He was the coordinator and principal instructor of postdoctoral orthopedics at Northwestern from 1976 through 1979 and from 1996 through 1999. He has been honored as a two-time recipient of the NWCC Teacher of the Year Award (1990 and 2006); the 2002 Minnesota Chiropractic Association’s John Allenburg Meritorious Award, and the 2009 recipient of the MCA’s Outstanding Educator Award. In 2006 he received the Joseph Sweere Living Legacy Award from the Council on Occupational Health of the American Chiropractic Association. He was the recipient of the 2007 Brilliant Star Award at the NWHSU Stars Among Us Gala. Dr. Sweere is also the coordinator of NWHSU’s continuing education programs on Occupational Health and has been a member of the postgraduate faculty of ten chiropractic colleges. Dr. Sweere is a past member of the American Public Health Association and presented technical papers at the APHA Conferences in 1986 and 1987.

He is listed in Marqui’s Who’s Who in the Midwest; Who’s Who in Chiropractic International; Who’s Who among American Teachers; Marqui’s Who’s Who in Industry and Finance and the Manchester Who’s Who among Executives and Professionals. Dr. Sweere is the Chairman of the MN DOLI Rehabilitation Review Panel; the Minnesota chiropractic representative to the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute, and a former member of the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board for the Department of Labor and Industry for the State of MN.

Dr. Sweere was the principal investigator for the Viracon Project, an industrial spinal injury prevention program from 1980 through 1986. He is the developer of the Biomechanical Stress Index (BSI), involving physical and biomechanical screening for the prevention of work-related lower spinal injuries. He is the founder, current President and member of the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultants (IACOHC). In August of 1988, Dr. Sweere was a featured presenter at an international conference on occupational health sponsored by the National Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health, (NIOSH) Centers for Disease Control, U.S. Public Health Service. He functioned as a presenter on occupational health at the World Chiropractic Congress in Sydney, Australia in October of 1988 and the European Chiropractic Union Convention in Bergen, Norway in June of 1989. He presented at World Chiropractic Congresses in London, England in 1993 and Cancun, Mexico in 1994, Dr. Sweere was named to the Advisory Council of the International Federation for Holistic Medicine at its organizational meeting in Havana, Cuba in July of 1994. He spoke at the National Safety Council Congress in Los Angeles, CA in 1998. In 1999 Dr. Sweere was selected to serve as the chiropractic spokesperson at the federal (OSHA) Stakeholder’s meetings regarding its Proposed Ergonomics Standard for the prevention of neuromusculoskeletal disorders He was a featured presenter at the Alternative Interdisciplinary Conference for the Management and Prevention of Acute and Chronic Pain in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico in June of 2000.

In September of 2000, he was a featured presenter at the Swiss Chiropractic Congress 2000 in Basel, Switzerland and the World Chiropractic Congress in Rio DeJaneiro in 2011, He presented “The Fundamentals of Chiropractic” at the Northgate Hospital in Tianjin China in August of 2011. Dr. Sweere served as the Editor of Chiropractic Family Practice – A Clinical Manual, a multi-authored chiropractic text, published in May of 1992 by Aspen Publishers of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Dr. Sweere has served as a business consultant to numerous U.S. companies as well as non-profit health related organizations. He is the author of Golden Rules for Vibrant Health in Body, Mind and Spirit – A Holistic Approach to Health and Wellness; Basic Health Publications, 2004. Dr. Sweere practiced chiropractic in Owatonna, MN for twenty-five years and has been a full-time chiropractic educator since 1986. He is considered a leading authority on the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic, as well as occupational health, wellness and safety education.

Paul A. Thompson

Paul A. Thompson is the managing partner of Woods & Thompson law firm, a boutique personal injury firm dedicated to helping individuals and families who have been hurt in accidents. While he has concentrated his practice on civil litigation and has experience representing a wide variety of personal injury accident cases, Paul has also developed a vast amount of experience with the business world, and particularly the representation of orthopedic, dental and chiropractic clinics with emphasis on clinic start-up and development, and ongoing business consultation services such as buy-sell agreements, partnership agreements, Professional Boundary & Ethics Plans, Independent Contractor and employment contracts, insurance billing issues/practices, lease issues, etc. Paul really does have a unique legal background that is tailor-made for helping those in the chiropractic and medical community, as well as their injured patients.
