The first module is an introduction and overview of ICD-10 coding. It covers a general comparison of ICD-9 to ICD-10, as well as an in-depth review of the rules for the new code set. A detailed review of the new ICD-10 code book will walk you and your office staff through key componenets of the new code set.
The second module will review chapter-specific guidelines and codes specific to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Case studies and coding practice will develop a greater level of proficiency and comfort with the new ICD-10 code set.
The third module covers documentation components necessary to support the new ICD-10 coding requirements. Case study review of the components of documentation will highlight essential requirements for proper reimbursement. Additionally, steps for ICD-10 implementation are addressed to provider important “next steps” for ICD-10 readiness.
