MCA Focuses on Practice Environment & Public Education
BLOOMINGTON - As a result of the recent Strategic Planning Session, the MCA Board of Directors has elected to focus on creating a more positive practice environment through increased public awareness and increased reimbursements for Minnesota chiropractors.
In order to facilitate this change and new focus, the MCA is reallocating existing resources. While legislative coverage remains a top priority, the MCA Board has decided to transition from three independent lobby groups, to two lobby firms with a total team of six registered lobbyists. In making this transition, the MCA will not be renewing the contract with lobbyist Dave Kunz.
"Dave has served the profession extremely well over the years, and we are sure he will continue to do so as he represents the interests of Northwestern Health Sciences University and SUMA MRI”, said MCA president, Dr. Jennifer Naas. She added, "We look forward to continuing to work with him on the appropriate initiatives."
The MCA will continue to be represented at the capitol by lobbying groups from the law firms of Chestnut & Cambronne P.A., and Fredrikson & Byron P.A., led by Cort Holten and Kevin Goodno, respectively.
"The MCA is excited about this new focus and know that it will be good for the profession as well as the patients and potential patients we serve”, Naas stated.
