Session Description

Quick Soft Tissue Methods to Help Maintain the Integrity of the Pelvis During the Childbearing Year

Adrienne will present quick, easy-to-learn, effective soft tissue release techniques to support sacroiliac and pubic symphysis adjustment. The soft tissue release techniques can help the chiropractic adjustments be easier for the doctor and patient, as well as create long term effectiveness of the adjustment. The importance of soft tissue health to support the integrity of the sacroiliac and pubic symphysis joints will be the focus.

There will be hands-on instruction to give you new tools to support your families during the childbearing year.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the long term benefits of supporting the function of the soft tissue structures to maintain the integrity of the pelvis during the childbearing year.
  2. Learn quick, pain free fascial release technique.
  3. Demonstrate the pain free fascial release technique.

Difficult Peds Cases: Am I Missing Something?

There is a rise of children with neurodevelopmental disorders in our practices including: ADHD, autism and sensory issues. These increasingly complicated pediatric cases lead the practitioner to dig deeper into the child's health history and examination. The beauty of assessing the nervous system is that every child is given specific recommendations based on their neurological exam. Since a child's physiological state is also important in the function of the nervous system, discussing a child's diet as well as other compounding factors are also necessary in tricky pediatric cases.

Learning Objectives

  1. Establish an exam flow for primitive reflex testing and correspond reflexes with specific issues.
  2. Obtain additional tools in functional neurological assessments of children.
  3. Obtain knowledge of physiological influences on a child's nervous system.

Orofacial growth and development & TOTs

The largest percentage of orofacial growth and development occurs before age 5. Signs of delayed development of the jaws and lower third of the face can be detected prior to age 3 in most cases, and many times presents itself in the first few weeks of life with difficulty breastfeeding. Conditions such as tongue and lip ties, also known as Tethered Oral Tissue (TOTs) can negatively impact the breastfeeding dyad, and orofacial growth and development, effecting the patient throughout the lifespan.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand what normal growth and development of the orofacial complex looks like
  2. Understand what TOTs are and how they are properly diagnosed
  3. Understand that treatment of orofacial conditions is a team sport
  4. Understand the possible negative consequences of underdeveloped in these areas

Acupuncture for Labor Preparation and Reducing Induction Rates
